C & R Real Estate Services Corporate Crooks
Carolyn Maffei is the Wicked Witch of the Enterprise. Her former managers wrote me when I was battling with C & R Real Estate to tell me about her corrupt practices were with tenants.
I am the owner of a 67-unit apartment complex that was nearly ruined by C&R's gross negligence. I thought all was well until I received numerous violation reports from the city of Beaverton and the Community Alliance of Tenants. Turns out my C&R rep Virginia Miller had been asleep at the wheel for 4 years, hired a manager who asked for bribes before doing any work, and when the work was done it was done improperly. I was paying for a manager, repair person and management company who had done virtually no work and didn't care. Now, thousands of dollars later, things are coming back and getting better, and as of Aug. 10, we have a new management company.
Never rent in a C&R managed building, and owners, never use C&R as your management company. Our lawsuit against C&R is in the works

"This is the worst place to live . Especially if you have children . We had a one year lease and moved out in 4 months. Adults swore at my kids and called them foul names to thier faces and to other adults . The night before we moved out, a couple was having sex in the dirt in the middle of the complex and the morning we moved out , a man raped a woman while she was passed out . The people there are rude. Kids beat up other kids and use language that even grown adults shouldnt use. People there are rude , disrespectful and no consideration for anyone else . I wouldnt send anyone i know to live there . No one there minds thier own business . So if you want to keep to yourself and keep your family safe, this is NOT the place to live . I had told one man twice before to NEVER touch my child , but yet he decided to take it upon himself to grab my son by the arm and yank his scooter away from him . The scooter then swung around and hit him in the chin . While living there I have had to put my son in councling for anger issues caused by the verbal abuse he recieved by adults there and had to put him on medication . My kids are SO much better off where they live now ."
Please dont rent from here . And whats worse , the management never did a thing about it . The walls and floors are not insulated very well so you can hear people down stairs and next door all the time . You can hear the neighbors talking in thier apartment , even from the back bedroom .
C & R Real Estate services has expensive Lake Oswego Lawyers who can and will bully you out of your housing , if you stand up to their illegal, corrupt practices.
When I moved out of our appt they owed me $220.00 the Mngr walked thru w/ me and said the place was spotless and in re-rentable order. A month latter instead of my check I got a bill for $1.102.85. Said they had to replace carpet and paint and clean blind's from smoke damage. I don't smoke! While I am in debate w/ them over phone they sent it to collection before I even had a chance to plead my side of it. I would not rent a tool shed from these folk's.
Not very friendly or easy to work with and have an unfriendly and apathetic disposition. Clearly they take over properties by offering to run them cheaper than other companies (bottomfeeders). I recently moved out and am still having issues settling move out costs. They keep trying to charge me for utility bills that I have already paid through their third party company and charged me for carpet cleaning on 8 year old carpet that they had to replace anyway upon me moving out. I have been misled, lied to, disrespected, threatened, harrassed and like others have pointed out not only do the upper management solve these issues,they contribute and I would speculate they encourage this behavior. I never chose to do business with these people they took over a property I lived in, but if you have the choice keep driving.
